This project began with a deed restriction that forbade any plantings which would obstruct the view of the lake from other homeowners on the street. A pair of long and relatively low steel pergolas create interest in the airspace without blocking any views. A flat plane of grass described by geometric shapes of gravel and dots of boxwood provide a flat space friendly to guests. The beds planted with shrubs and perennials are relaxed and overflowing.
